For me one of the main factors of switching to vaping was my wheeze. When lying in bed before I fell asleep I would have a loud wheeze that keep me up. It would make my heart and mind race thinking that this was a precursor to cancer and the like. This also concerned my girlfriend – very much.
She would tell me I should cut down and make jokes about me being a smoker, etc. My smokers wheeze was gone in about 4 days.
The Vape Cough
When I was smoking and vaping at the same time I got a mean smokers cough. It was launder and stronger than my normal smokers cough. It was rough, this lasted the entire time I was transitioning to vaping.
Once I was mainly vaping this disappeared. I would say this took about 4 days to a week. This was me being a ‘hard-core and old school’ smoker. I’m sure if you tried to use a little bit of will power you could do it in about a day.
After About a Week or Two Weeks of Only Vaping
This is where the fun begins. I started to notice that my lovely girlfriend would be buying cigarettes every few days. My small bottle of vape juice is lasing about a week to 10 days. This was starting to save me lots of money. I live in Ontario and a pack of cigarettes is about $12. Buy one every day would add up really fast.
The other thing I noticed was the flavors came out like you wouldn’t believe. When I first got my vape I purchased a vape juice that was strawberry pineapple. I honestly never noticed that the juice even had pineapple in it. I also mentioned that I was going for the flavored tobaccos and such, on a whim I purchased a ‘blueberry cotton candy’ e-juice. This was honestly just a nice sharp blueberry flavor and it was the best thing ever.
I switched to berry flavored e-juice and it is my jam. It really is, they are wonderful and smell awesome. I’ve also noticed that they have a sweet flavor and I can vape like a train and have a wicked flavor that I really enjoy.
So there you have it the quick 1-2-3 on what happens when you quit smoking and start vaping. It’s not the most in-depth guide, but it’s from the heart. I’ll be sure to write some more once my girlfriend gets closer to the idea of switching to vaping. She’s close, but not fully there.
